Donor Hero: Gemma Snowball
by Margaret Snowball
Gemma was living her best life in Vancouver, British Columbia on a working visa. She was walking home one night in March 2013 from her job at a Safeway store in her local neighbourhood. She was hit by a driver making an illegal turn at traffic lights and did not survive.
Her organs were gifted to those in need in Vancouver, a place which had made her so very welcome. She loved the people, the snow and the lifestyle. She was very well known in her neighbourhood and everybody loved her - her sunny smile and Aussie ways.
She is still missed and thought about by those who knew her in Canada and of course, we, her family miss her every day. Gemma was much loved by all who knew her and will be forever remembered.
